Okechukwu's Appointment Will Reunite Umuoghara Community- Eze

A stakeholder from Okposi Umuoghara Community in Ezza North LGA, Ebonyi State Mrs.Ngozi Eze described the recent appointment of Hon.Okechukwu Mgbada,ex official secondary Education Board,as opportunity to reunite the people.

She made the assertion during the"Thank you" party organized by the new appointtee to appreciate his people who stood by him throughout the electioneering period.

The former All Progressive Congress, staunch member noted that Hon. Mgbada started well by bringing together those who were in opposition party with him before their return for the ruling party, nothing that being a good listener would take the new appointtee to his place of political dream.

She cautioned him against ill advisers who would soon cluster round him with wrong advise as a way to seek political favour, stressing that creating job for the teaming jobless graduates should be of his interest for posterity would not forget his good deeds.

The member representing Ezza North  East in Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon.Friday Nwuhuo, extolled governor Umahi for his love for Okposi Umuoghara Community who is a true beneficiary of the present government in both human empowerment and infrastructural development.

Hon.Nwuhuo emphasized that the season of politicking was over, calling the people irrespective of party afflictions to come together in promoting policies of Umahi led administration to take the state to a great height.

Speaking the Special Assistant to the state governor on Internal Security Central and Utilities, Hon.Onyekachi Nwebonyi, (a.k.a Bone) said the appointment of Hon.Mgbada by the state governor has proven that "when the righteous are in power, the people will rejoice".

He called the people to keep giving their support to the Umahi led 
government especially on the airport project as that would bring development in the area.

In his appreciation, Hon.Mgbada commended governor Umahi for founding him worthy of the post and his love for his people and assured him of Okposi Umuoghara community continual support.

He lauded the state governor for the infrastructural development in the state and thank his supporters numbering over three hundred who defected from APC to people Democratic Party assuming them of his continual show of love.
Others who spoke are,Mr.Kingsley Akam, chairman of the occasion, Ede Alo, ward PDP chairman and Hon.Friday Mgbabor, thanked Hon. Mgbada for his love for the people and promised their unalloyed support.

Man Convicts 7-Yrs For Pouring Acid On Lawyer In Ebonyi

BY MBAM EJIKE, ABAKALIKI High Court sitting in Abakaliki on weekend convicted Mr. Njoku Shedrack who poured acid/corrosive substance on Chukwunonso Caleb Onwe Esq, a member of Abakaliki Branch of NBA and sentenced him to 7 years imprisonment without an option of fine. In delivering the judgment in Charge No. HAB/151C/2020- State v. Njoku Shedrack, the court presided over by Hon. Justice I.P Chima held that the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt that it was the defendant who poured acid on the lawyer on 1/10/2019 without any justification and accordingly convicted him for the offence of Assault Occasioning harm. Reacting to the judgment, the Prosecution counsel J.U Chukwu, Assistant Chief State Counsel thanked the court for doing justice in the matter. Similarly, the defendant' s counsel Odiegwu Ibekwe, Esq.thanked the court for delivering a well considered judgment stating that courts should always ensure that justice is done in all circumstances.
