Umahi Mourns Tobias Okwuru

Tobias Chukwuemeka Okwuru is dead. Born to the family of Chief Michael and Mrs. Christiana Okwuru in the pastoral community of Amudo in the then Ezzikwo Division (now Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State), the death of Tobias Okwuru is a big blow to Ezza Nation. Aliezza, as he is called, was a rising star in Ebonyi Politics. He died at the age of 59. The former parliamentarian  had his primary and post-primary education at St. Paul’s primary (now Community Central School, Amudo) and Boys’ Secondary School, Ezzamgbo, respectively. Later on, he bagged a second-class degree in Government/ Public Administration from Imo State University, Owerri. --Many Left Wounded --Union Demands Justice By Nwogha Ndubuisi Andy, Abakaliki Tension was heightened at the early morning of Monday, 17 February,2020 at the popular Nwezenyi junction in Igbeagu, Izzi Local Government Area when some men identified as Haulage Tax Operators situated at the Junction Primary School allegedly attacked a heavy duty driver leaving him with severe matchet cuts. Narrating the ugly incident, the Driver, Mr.Eze Nnabuife told us that he was on his way from Benue State to Port Harcourt, after over one month of his usual business trip when he was allegedly attacked by the tax operators. According to him,it was around 1:00AM  when he was intercept by the Haulage Tax operators who demanded for a certain amount of money as settlement, a request he said,was unsual at that particular place seeing that they were not men of Nigeria Police Force who were seen not far from the point they blocked the Federal Highway, and that prompted his demand for explanation.

--Vows to Boycott LG Election if fee not removed By Nwogha Ndubuisi Andy, Abakaliki The Ebonyi State Chapter Inter Party Advisory Council Chairman,IPAC, led by Nwogba Morgan Nnaemeka on Wednesday 12 February,2020 faulted the Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission nomination form fee charge of over one million naira. Addressing newsmen in his Abakaliki office, the State Chairman stated  that the State Electoral Commission nomination form charge was unacceptable to the opposition parties as they have written to the body awaiting their response of cancellation of the fee or be forced to boycott the forth coming Local Government Area election.
