No Room For Cult Activities in Ebonyi State~ Hon Anakor

The Special Assistant to the Governor of Ebonyi State on Security and Utility Capital City Hon. Saint Nchekwube Anakor and his team has today visited Great Mind Academy School at Olisaemeka off Udensi street Abakaliki and the Glory Land International School Azugwu road Abakaliki for the ongoing sensitisation against Cultism,girl child rape, criminalism, thuggery, gambling, drug addiction, and building of people's security consciousness in the state.

Hon Anakor in his speech advised the students to always listen to their, parents, teachers and read their bibles, books frequently, Saint Anakor said that High numbers of student who engage in evil acts in a school reduce the morality and standard of that school and Parents tend to withdraw their children from such schools and the change of institution might have negative effects on such students.
Hon Anakor categorized the stages of Cultism from one stage to another which might even progress to higher crimes such as highway and bank robbery, thuggery and other evil acts like premarital sex, abortion which can tarnish the image of a family and a country as well, Saint Anakor stated bitterly that when a pregnant lady face emotional, psychological trauma which will make her lose focus and attention on her studies. She might eventually stop schooling, get expelled or quit for some period of time. If she is lucky, she may return to school but her mates will be far ahead of her.

Hon Anakor thanked the principals, Staffs and students visited, told them that our Governor, his Excellency Chief Engr Dr Apostle Deacon David Nweze Umahi loves them so much, that his Excellency had done perfectly well to save lives and properties of the people of the state which
made Ebonyi the most security, safety conscious state in Africa where everybody would sleep with two eyes closed.

Hon Anakor encouraged the students that one of the best things they can do to help themselves and their communities is to get a good education, study hard, have much time reading their books, When they are well educated, they can get better jobs and contribute more to the economy, become SA, Governor, Senator, Medical doctor, Engineer, Lawyer etc as none of the students would want to be a rejected citizen of the Nation.

Saint Anakor equally gave out his telephone numbers to the schools as usual, advised them to call at any time whenever there is any abnormal activities such as robbery, attack, harassment and other negative activities from any person or group of persons that he is ready to respond before 5mins of notification.

Hon Saint Nchekwube Anakor was accompanied by his team including TAs and Others.

Man Convicts 7-Yrs For Pouring Acid On Lawyer In Ebonyi

BY MBAM EJIKE, ABAKALIKI High Court sitting in Abakaliki on weekend convicted Mr. Njoku Shedrack who poured acid/corrosive substance on Chukwunonso Caleb Onwe Esq, a member of Abakaliki Branch of NBA and sentenced him to 7 years imprisonment without an option of fine. In delivering the judgment in Charge No. HAB/151C/2020- State v. Njoku Shedrack, the court presided over by Hon. Justice I.P Chima held that the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt that it was the defendant who poured acid on the lawyer on 1/10/2019 without any justification and accordingly convicted him for the offence of Assault Occasioning harm. Reacting to the judgment, the Prosecution counsel J.U Chukwu, Assistant Chief State Counsel thanked the court for doing justice in the matter. Similarly, the defendant' s counsel Odiegwu Ibekwe, Esq.thanked the court for delivering a well considered judgment stating that courts should always ensure that justice is done in all circumstances.
