Following the unprecedented and risen unemployment in the country, youths on Tuesday, 19 November,2019 were advised by the founder,Regina Pacis Foundation,Chief Dr. Sir Edward Nkwegu to engage in Meaningful Skill as a way to curb the growing menace.
According to the founder, while addressing students of Regina Pacis Vocational Institute during the 15th Anniversary ceremony of the foundation highlited what he termed eight (8) intergrities of business and investment Success which he noted among mission, leadership, team and others.
He pointed out that every successful business must have a defined mission which through it enhance other necessary rudiments to achieving targeted goal, even as, he stated that until one picks a common problem within his locality and proffer solution to it that such man would continue to live a life of blames either to the government, parents or his immediate family.
"If you must enjoy here while on earth and join God in his paradise here after, you should constantly ask yourself why you are here on Earth and why you are not created as an ant, snake or stone because that will make you know that you have a mission to fulfill"
He revealed over twenty common problems facing the country which he said, coming up with solution to those challenges is what makes one an Entrepreneur, therefore, hinted that Entrepreneurs are those who are ready to solve societal difficulties with the target of making fortunes out of it.
"Our country is faced with alot of challenges ranging from scarcity of food,Security, child Abuse, Cultism, bad leadership, poor standard of education, scarcity of drinkable water, unemployment, terrorism, corruption, timidity, religion tendency, nepotism, illiteracy among others and all these are what an Entrepreneur look for it's solution and make business from them.
"When we started Regina Pacis Foundation in the year 2005, we started with giving scholarship and grants to students because our belief was that if we give this People scholarship that on graduation they will come back with certificate and live a better life but along the line these people graduated and came back to us without job, and the problem is that many of them just join the crowd without defining their mission.
He said that differentiating liability from asset is the first steps to gaining financial freedom as no one becomes financially successful by accumulating more liabilities to assets.
"Many people are still struggling because they mistake their liabilities for assets, not knowing that assets are those things that bring money into your pocket and increase your cash flow while liabilities are those things that take money away from your pocket, somebody who built a residential home or buy a private car has succeeded accumulating liabilities and not an assets because it has no return".
Dr. Nkwegu faulted some ill attitude common among youth which he said among trying to reap where they did not sow, tasking them to engage in a skill which after, should put what they learnt to work as having a skill was not enough to escape poverty.
He called youth to accept a life of responsibility knowing that success is not built in a day but consistency fueled with passion, even as he described the youth as the future leaders.
However, the resource person Edubridge Consulting Company, Mister Chizoba Gwacham Advised Nigeria youth to shun cybercrime but use their technological knowledge to solve most universal challenges.
The senior prefect Regina Pacis Foundation Mr. Mgburu Ekene Israel commended Sir. Nkwegu for exposing them to the path of success and assured him of utilizing the knowledge gain for a better societal development.
Meanwhile, the programme was attended by dignitaries across the state among past commissioners and local government chairmen.
Regina Pacis Foundation is a non governmental organization established since 2005 by the Chief Executive Director, Edon Nigeria Company.
