Extend Arm Giving to Less Privileged,Aged Deaconess Charges Christians on Christmas

By Ndubuisi Nwogha, Abakaliki The Chairman of Ebonyi State House of Assembly Service Commission Deaconess Mrs Roseline Obasi Nwode has tasked Christians to extend arms giving to less privileged even as she said the State Governor, Engr David Nweze Umahi has made the celebration of Christmas worthwhile in the state as he has provided salvation to the people from backwardness, neglect, poverty, inferiority complex, underdevelopment and bad governance.
Deaconess Obasi Nwode stated this in Abakaliki while analyzing the reason why Ebonyians should shove other impending factors aside to celebrate Christmas and thank God for keeping them alive to see Ebonyi becoming the State of their dream. The Commission Chairman maintained that before the advent of David Umahi led administration , it was an uphill task for Ebonyians in diaspora to come home for Christmas as a result of bad roads that lead into the state but within six years of the leading administration, all the leading roads have been reconstructed and plans are on top gear to dualize the Abakaliki Enugu and Abakaliki Afikpo roads, all in an effort to make transportation easier for the people. She noted that apart from this , the security of live and property are guaranteed, stable price of food stuffs and serene environment littered with street and decorative lights. Deaconess Roseline Obasi Nwode equally made reference to the mood with which Governor Umahi kick-started the Christmas celebrations by thanksgiving where all the proceeds were channeled into distribution to the less privileged and indigents in the society. She implored all other well meaning individuals in the state to emulate this kind gesture of almsgiving especially to the needy as this will go in tandem with the biblical injunction that it is more beneficial to give than to take. Deaconess Roseline Obasi Nwode then used the occasion to commend the state Governor , Engr David Nweze Umahi for his untiring efforts in transforming Ebonyi State and the wife , Chief Mrs Rachel Umahi for standing by the Governor to make sure all the electoral promises made were kept. She equally thanked the Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and the Deputy Speaker Hon Odefa Obasi Odefa for keeping the state Assembly peaceful and effective as all the bills and motions passed have had direct positive impact on the people. The House of Assembly Service Commission Chairman therefore implored the people of Ebonyi State to go out and celebrate modestly within the confine of their purse and not to be extravagant but at the same time have it in mind that it is their obligations to reciprocate the Governor for having done so much for the State by supporting all his programmes, policies and ideologies.
