Breaking: Social Media Boils as Ghost TA to Governor Umahi Sacked

 Social Media especially the Facebook has today awashed over the news on air that one Mr. Eze Collins O.a Facebook influencer has been sacked as Technical Assistant (TA) to Ebonyi State Governor on Media whereas he never held any political position.

 According to the report, it stated that Hon.Monday Eze,Senior Technical Assistant,STA to the state Governor and Mr. Collins Eze O, a faceless social media influencer was said to be a Technical Assistant to the Governor, even when the duo was among popular followers of the current administration that did not make the political position.

 However, the State Secretary to the Governor has today indefinitely suspended them over a report said to be made online by Hon.Eze as regards to Senator Sam Egwu's conspicuous body language to retain his position as a third times Senator Representing Ebonyi North at the National Assembly which the Senior Technical Assistant was said to had remind Dr. Egwu of his past statement of never to contest the post if given the chance in recently held election which gave him the opportunity to cede the post.

The Ebonyi State Government has ordered the immediate indefinite suspension from office of Mr. Monday Eze and Mr. Collins Eze as senior Technical Assistant (STA)  and Technical Assistant (TA) respectively. 

 The suspension order is due to their improper conduct unbecoming of public Officers of Ebonyi State Government.

 Consequently, they are directed to handover all government property in their possession to the principal Secretary to the Governor before the close of work on Friday 10th January, 2020.

 Government wishes to warn that government appointees/Public Officers should focus on their official duties and desist from disparaging leaders and officials of the State, as offenders will be severely sanctioned. To be forewarned is to be forearmed.

Man Convicts 7-Yrs For Pouring Acid On Lawyer In Ebonyi

BY MBAM EJIKE, ABAKALIKI High Court sitting in Abakaliki on weekend convicted Mr. Njoku Shedrack who poured acid/corrosive substance on Chukwunonso Caleb Onwe Esq, a member of Abakaliki Branch of NBA and sentenced him to 7 years imprisonment without an option of fine. In delivering the judgment in Charge No. HAB/151C/2020- State v. Njoku Shedrack, the court presided over by Hon. Justice I.P Chima held that the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt that it was the defendant who poured acid on the lawyer on 1/10/2019 without any justification and accordingly convicted him for the offence of Assault Occasioning harm. Reacting to the judgment, the Prosecution counsel J.U Chukwu, Assistant Chief State Counsel thanked the court for doing justice in the matter. Similarly, the defendant' s counsel Odiegwu Ibekwe, Esq.thanked the court for delivering a well considered judgment stating that courts should always ensure that justice is done in all circumstances.
