Activist Decries Izzi Marginalization in Ebonyi

  A fiery social media Activist,Onyibe Jeremiah, on weekend decried high level of Marginalization of Izzi people, the most populous clan in Ebonyi State.

According to him, the people who is known for their hospitality has suffered humiliation due to political marginalization in the state.

In a letter made available on his timeline it reads in full,"*THE AGONY OF IZHI PEOPLE IN EBONYI STATE*

1. Izhi people are the largest clan in Ebonyi state with more than 35pervent Voting strength of Ebonyi state and about 40 percentage of total  land mass of Ebonyi state yet they are the most victimized, ignored and deprived people in the state.



2. After Ebonyi state was crated from old Enugu state by Late General Sani Abacha we happily gave out our land for the capital city of the state with the intent that the husband man is always the first partaker of the fruits but it was later denied from us and we didn’t complain.


3. Preceding the creation of the state, Ebonyi state University was to take off as the state owned University with it’s Administrative  office at  Collage of Agricultural Science CAS and other two different Annex at Presco Campus for school of Natural Science and Medical Collage while   Ishieke Campus is for Faculty of Arts and Humanity, Social Science and Education, but
later the permanent Site of Ebsu was later Moved to *Ezzamgbo* and we didn’t complain, they moved *Collage of Medicine and Health Science to Uburu* and we didn’t cry.


4. Equally, the old Stone Crushing Cluster that was located at Abakaliki Izhi land was moved to *Umuohara Ezza land* and we didn’t protest.


5. The Waste Management Plants which suppose to be sited at Abakaliki was moved to Ezza land and we are glad with them .


6. The International Airport which was said to be built at Sharon Izhi land with needed survey and geological report done even with the drawings of site but later transferred to *Ezza land* yet we had no problem with that.


7. NYSC camp that was located at Sharon but later moved to *Afikpor* and we saw it as nothing.


8. Ebonyi state Teaching Hospital that was at Abakaliki and is now moved to *Uburu* and we never grumbled.

9. Feferal Government High Collage that is supposed to be at Special Science Igbeagu but later moved to *Ezzamgbo* and we cared not


10. Now, Federal Collage of Education that was recently approved by Federal Government with Executive order to be sited at *Abakaliki, izhi land and Ezza people* are vehemently opposing it with the state Publicity Secretary of APC in Ebonyi state *Nwoba Chika Nwoba* publicly calling for protest in both Print and  Social Media .


11. Let us make sound judgement for ourselves and allow Izhi to  host the Establishment of *Federal Collage of Education* at Abakaliki which have been already approved by Federal Government to be sited at Izhi".

Man Convicts 7-Yrs For Pouring Acid On Lawyer In Ebonyi

BY MBAM EJIKE, ABAKALIKI High Court sitting in Abakaliki on weekend convicted Mr. Njoku Shedrack who poured acid/corrosive substance on Chukwunonso Caleb Onwe Esq, a member of Abakaliki Branch of NBA and sentenced him to 7 years imprisonment without an option of fine. In delivering the judgment in Charge No. HAB/151C/2020- State v. Njoku Shedrack, the court presided over by Hon. Justice I.P Chima held that the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt that it was the defendant who poured acid on the lawyer on 1/10/2019 without any justification and accordingly convicted him for the offence of Assault Occasioning harm. Reacting to the judgment, the Prosecution counsel J.U Chukwu, Assistant Chief State Counsel thanked the court for doing justice in the matter. Similarly, the defendant' s counsel Odiegwu Ibekwe, Esq.thanked the court for delivering a well considered judgment stating that courts should always ensure that justice is done in all circumstances.
