The Young Progressives Party YYP, over the weekend, says it is committed to win the Governorship position in Ebonyi State at the 2023 general elections.
This comes at a meeting held to inaugurate the State Executives who would champion the course of the party in Abakaliki the State capital on Sunday.
The State Chairman, Deacon Oyibe Stanley, said it becomes necessary to inaugurate them in order to sensitize the people of the State on the ideologies and affairs of the party.
He charged them to work selflessly towards winning the Governorship position at the 2023 general elections to effect positive change in governance.
Deacon Oyibe who spoke on the need for youth to deeply involve in politics and governance charged interested persons to join the party, knowing that the structure at both national and state levels has all it takes to deliver it's candidates.
He explained that the party has produced sitting national and state assembly members in various states and called on the youth to queue in the vision and ideology of producing young leaders in both governorship and Presidency come 2023.
Speaking further, Deacon Oyibe said his party would address the loopholes which the current administration in Ebonyi State has not been able to address if elected.
He gave highlights on human capacity building and welfare of workers in the State which he believes have been neglected by the current administration.
“YPP is coming into power to ensure the welfare of our workers, as well as to give voices to the Youths and sense of belonging in governance in the State.
“This is a party for the youths, we need to change the narratives, we need to change ideas, we need to run an inclusive Government,
“YPP would work to meet the needs of the youths, this is where too young to run is accepted, we don’t count age, we check your capability in service delivery and capacity building.” He said.
However, he lamented over the state of insecurity in the Country and attributed it to lack of good governance, and said his party would change the narratives.
“Nigeria is lacking behind, no good leadership, that is why you see insecurity, you see bad economy and crisis everywhere.”. Oyibe said.
He called on the Youths across the Country to engage in political activities and change the idea of tyranny in the Nation.
“We are tired of bad leadership and that's what YPP represent in changing the bad old story”. He concluded
