2023: PDP Guber Candidate Preaches Massive Voter's Card Registration In Ebonyi

Ahead of the 2023 election, the gubernatorial Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Ebonyi State, Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, has called all the eligible voters to participate massively on the ongoing registration of permanent voter's card (PVC) to enable them vote credible candidates of their choice.
Odii, popularly known as AnyiChuks stated this on Saturday during the inauguration of his campaign office in Abakaliki.
He described permenent voters card as power and right to vote for the rigjt candidate come 2023 general elections.
The Governorship Candidate said that the winner of any position would only be determined by number of votes cast by electorates not rigging and urged PDP faithfuls remain united.
According to him" I thank the three-man delegates for choosing me during the primaries. I urge all aggrieved members our party to embrace peace in order to win all positions in the State.
Politics of not united, will only slow us down over the strategies to win during the election, but we shall overcome them. Let us come together in solidarity with a common purpose"
“The goal is to create wealth for the people, which I have been doing. We can transform Ebonyi together and we can do it come 2023.
“I am committed to diversify the state economy and improvement of human empowerment for the people if elected as governor.
“To the electorates, go and get your PVC so that on the election day, you go out and cast your vote and I believe your vote will surely count"
Corroborating Odii, Sen Igwe Nwagu who is his running also pointed out the need for PVC and urged the people to ensure that they are registered to enable them vote"
“In 2023, our vote must surely count. The era of rigging is over while comparing to what happened in Ekiti state election. We will win and we are not going to be intimidated by any group or party"
“My joint ticket with the Odii is well planned and we shall strengthen true governance to Ebonyi people come 2023,” he added
The campaign director general of AnyiChuks Campaign Organisation Mr. Solomon Onwe noted the importance of PVC to the forthcoming general elections could not be over-emphasised.
Onwe urged the stakeholders at the community level not to relent in sensitizing the public on the importance of voter's card registration.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Nigeria Youth Organisation (NYO), Ebonyi chapter Mr. Kelechi Igwe, pledged to deepen sensitisations on voter's card registration at the grassroots.
Man Convicts 7-Yrs For Pouring Acid On Lawyer In Ebonyi
BY MBAM EJIKE, ABAKALIKI High Court sitting in Abakaliki on weekend convicted Mr. Njoku Shedrack who poured acid/corrosive substance on Chukwunonso Caleb Onwe Esq, a member of Abakaliki Branch of NBA and sentenced him to 7 years imprisonment without an option of fine. In delivering the judgment in Charge No. HAB/151C/2020- State v. Njoku Shedrack, the court presided over by Hon. Justice I.P Chima held that the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt that it was the defendant who poured acid on the lawyer on 1/10/2019 without any justification and accordingly convicted him for the offence of Assault Occasioning harm. Reacting to the judgment, the Prosecution counsel J.U Chukwu, Assistant Chief State Counsel thanked the court for doing justice in the matter. Similarly, the defendant' s counsel Odiegwu Ibekwe, Esq.thanked the court for delivering a well considered judgment stating that courts should always ensure that justice is done in all circumstances.
