Accountants Tasks On Intergrity In Services Delivery

Senator Obinna Ogba, representing Ebonyi Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly on Saturday 20th November,2021 urged all accountants to maintain integrity while discharging their duties.
Senator Ogba who was a special guest during the Ebonyi State ANAN's conferment of award and launching of her 45 million branded bus in Abakaliki, advised the members of the asssociation to be steadfast with their missions and visions for the overall benefit of the society.
"It is clear that ANAN has come to stay in Ebonyi State, knowing full well that, a thousand mile starts with one step. You should be steadfast to achieve your goals," he said.
He said many people have observed that accountants at all times, complain of no money available with them.
"Every minute, they say there's no money. When you meet accountant, he will say, there's no money.
"Now you need money, the accountants need money. The only thing, I want to remind you is that you should always remember tomorrow.
"As an accountant, some of us know the roles of accountants. Some of you face a lot of pressure because of the kind of the bosses you have, but you shouldn't compromise in discharging your duties, by ensuring that you display high sense of integrity in service delivery," he added.
He expressed glad for being invited by the association, and assured the members of a better tomorrow in the state.
"I'm glad to be here because I was invited by you. And I know how important this association is in the society. Accountants are very important people.
Ebonyi State will be happy again," he added.
Senator Ogba also donated cash gift to the association and urged the members to keep being peaceful and united while pursuing their aims and objectives as a body.
Earlier, the State Deputy Governor, Barr Kelechi Igwe, represented by Mr Emmanuel Ekuma - Coordinator of Ikwo East Development Centre, described the event as an awesome while commending the members in the area of management.
He said, ANAN in the state has contributed immensely in assisting the state government to record success in its financial management and urged them to sustain the tempo.
Barr George Ukpai, who was the Chairman of the occasion, said the event was organized to honour some ANAN members in the state, who had contributed immensely towards the development of the association not only in Ebonyi but in Nigeria at large.
"For us in ANAN it is an epoch making event. It's an event which is used to motivate other members to contribute, and also to showcase the professional proficiency inherent in the members of this noble association," the Chairman explained.
Some of the awardees including the Pioneer Auditor General in the state -Chief Boniface Obiya Ezaegu, the State Accountant General - Emeka C. Nwankwo, amongst others expressed gratitude for the recognition and pledged more commitment to promote the asssociation to the limelight.
Recall that the Chief Host of the event was the ANAN President and Chairman of the Council - Prof Benjamin Chuka Osisoioma while the Ebonyi State Branch Chairman of the Association, Dr Louis Chinedu Nkwagu became the host.
