Ebonyi/Cross River Crisis: Ijutum, Okpuitumo Communities Settle For Peace
–Vow Never to Fight War Again

Thepeople of Ijutum and Okpuitumo communities of Cross River and Ebonyi State yesterday turned out enmass to receive Cross River/Ebonyi Youths Peace Development Movement (Peace Ambassadors) at their respective community primary schools of Ijutum and Ndegu Okpuitumo.
At Ijutum, the people were visibly seen wearing a face of hope on the arrival of the Cross River/Ebonyi Youths Peace Development Movement. Their firm belief in the youth’s peace advocacy was further demonstrated by the Traditional Ruler of Ijutum community, HRH Sunday James Ovat who in his good will message to the Peace Ambassadors said, “Thank you Ibiniukpabi (God) for using these youths to bridge the shameful and most regrettable gap which the devil has caused us to create between ourselves – Ijutum and Okpuitumo Communities by fighting a useless war.”
Truly, the entire premises of Ijutum, the large canopy of the cashew tree; under which both the youths and the people of Ijutum were seated and the baths that were flying around where noticed to stand still in a sober mood while the National President was delivering his peace address and the content of the youths peace communique.
The Monarch,community leaders, the youths leaders, the women leaders of Ijutum, Ofenakom and Idoru in their separate peace acceptance speeches promised to swallow the contents of the peace communique presented to them by the National President of the Movement, Barr Prince Paschal Nnaji Nwenyi with the supportive hands of the entire peace Ambassadors both hook line and sink.
In a celebration of the hope brought to them, the Peace Ambassadors were lavishly entertained by the Ijutum people to the chagrin of everyone in attendance.
At Okpuitumo Primary School; where the people of Okpuitumo community gathered to receive the Youths Peace Movement, the crowd seen there was not less than the sum total of entire community as no one was left at home.
HRH Eze Emmanuel Nwangele is a man that worth his onions while receiving the Peace Ambassadors invoked the ancestral being of Izzi Nnodo Ekumenyi to come down from his abode and take charge of the gathering and automatically, the scorching rays of the sun went hiding till the end of the event.
The Royal father who equally prayed over the Kola nuts presented to the Youths Peace Development Movement asked God for forgiveness for having fought a useless war with their neighboring Ijutum community.
The National President of Cross River/Ebonyi Youths Peace Development Movement, Barr Prince Paschal Nnaji Nwenyi and his Vice, Comrade Lucky Okpechi, in thier separate speeches recounted the good old days that was deprecated by the crises and pleaded with the community to accept the contents of the peace communique as the sure way of regaining all that have been lost as a result of the crises.
The Traditional Ruler, the Coordinator of Izzi DC – Hon. Ebere Nwogba, the Community leader, the Youths leader and the Women leader in their peace acceptance speeches said that they will jointly and severally work together to ensure that the items of the communique are respected to the later.
They prayed favently for God to keep every one alive to testisfy the positive outcome of the uncommon journey the Youths of Cross River and Ebonyi State embarked upon in order to salvage the future of the both community youths in the interest of posterity.
The highlight of the event was the voluntery acceptance by Mrs Nkwegu Onyibe to join the Youths Peace Movement in going from place to place preaching peace, reconciliation and harmonious coexistence.
