SWAN South East Zone Congratulates New NFF's Vice President, Tasks Leaders On Unity

Sport Writers Association of Nigeria,(SWAN) South-East zonal leadership led by the vice president, Ms Chigozie Chukwuleta has congratulated the newly elected Nigeria Football Federation,(NFF) Vice President, Chief Anyansi Agwu. The executives made the remarks in a statement made available by the zonal Secretary, Mrs Ijeoma Peter Nwante in Abakaliki.
Accordingly, the South-East zonal leadership in their felicitation message congratulated the 1st Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation Mr Anyansi for his successful election and pledged to give him all the necessary support to make him succeed. "The executive and members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN, South East Zone wish to felicitate with Chief Anyansi Agwu on his election as the 1st Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF." Ms Chukwuleta while commending the Enyimba Int'l FC Aba chairman, urged him to use his wealth of experiences into charting a new and good course for the country's football game. However, the Sports Writers body called on the NFF board members under the leadership of Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau on the need to unite the country's football family as to drive a course that would take them to greater heights.
"SWAN South East Zone under the leadership of Ms Chigozie Chukwuleta (VP South East) joins many Nigerians and particularly our South East football fraternity to rejoice with our own as we are without doubt that he will bring his wealth of experience in charting a new and good course for Nigerian Football. "The sports writers body however wishes to use this opportunity to urge the Enyimba Int'l FC of Aba Chairman and the new NFF Board members under the leadership of Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau on the need to unite the Nigerian football family and drive a new and positive innovations that will take Nigerian football to greater heights." She emphasized.

Man Convicts 7-Yrs For Pouring Acid On Lawyer In Ebonyi

BY MBAM EJIKE, ABAKALIKI High Court sitting in Abakaliki on weekend convicted Mr. Njoku Shedrack who poured acid/corrosive substance on Chukwunonso Caleb Onwe Esq, a member of Abakaliki Branch of NBA and sentenced him to 7 years imprisonment without an option of fine. In delivering the judgment in Charge No. HAB/151C/2020- State v. Njoku Shedrack, the court presided over by Hon. Justice I.P Chima held that the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt that it was the defendant who poured acid on the lawyer on 1/10/2019 without any justification and accordingly convicted him for the offence of Assault Occasioning harm. Reacting to the judgment, the Prosecution counsel J.U Chukwu, Assistant Chief State Counsel thanked the court for doing justice in the matter. Similarly, the defendant' s counsel Odiegwu Ibekwe, Esq.thanked the court for delivering a well considered judgment stating that courts should always ensure that justice is done in all circumstances.
